Located on each side of the entrance to the bay of the Port de Sóller, these two lighthouses have illuminated the road to sailors who sought refuge in the port since its construction in 1859 and 1864, respectively.
The Capgros Lighthouse, white and 22 meters high, is 120 meters above sea level at the Morro des Xoriguer. Accessible from the Port de Sóller through the Way of the Lighthouse, the Capgros Lighthouse is an ideal place to enjoy the views and learn how the lighthouse keepers lived in ancient times.
The Lighthouse of La Cruz, 13 meters high and painted with blue and white stripes, stands 35 meters above sea level on the hill of Puerto de Sóller. Very close to the lighthouse tower is a "bufador": a hole in the rock that communicates with the sea and that the days of storm causes a large stream of water that rises 30 meters and collapses on the lighthouse.
In 1812, the two lighthouses of Sóller became the first electrified lighthouses of the Balearic Islands, although the faulty power line forced the lighthouse keepers to resort to emergency lighting almost daily.
