The ideal place to learn about the ways and lifestyles that rich sollerics led before the 20th century are the inns, the residences that the great agricultural owners of the Tramuntana Mountains possessed in the town. In addition to a place to live and store their fruits from their lands, the stalls were a symbol of power and opulence that pointed to the owner's social status.
Walking through the streets of Sóller, the pedestrian can discover a series of stately homes and stalls that transports him until the 17th and 18th centuries:
At number 16 of Calle de Sa Luna we find Can Prohom, built in the vicinity of 1758 as a single stand currently divided into two houses. The original portal is the one on the right with a semicircular arch formed by wide segments. The most notable part is the main courtyard with stables formed by six domed columns with elegant lowered arches, currently converted into an elegant porch. From the windows of the house you can see the hard worked furniture inside the house.
In number 1 of Calle Canales we find the stall of Ca s'Hereu a typical Baroque style home built in 1786 which has an essence of nobility that dominates both the interior and exterior of the building.
In the street of Bàlitx we find the setting of the same name. An 18th-century baroque house with a facade decorated with small embedded stones and the Mayol's hieratic shield on one of the simple iron railings on the balconies.
In front of the residence of Nuestra Señora de la Victoria we find the Posada de Montcaire (Hospital Street, 7): a building with an austere style characteristic of civil baroque in transition with the neoclassical of the late eighteenth century. The perfectly preserved building maintains its tiles painted with geometric, anthropomorphic and vegetal motifs, inspired by the embroidery, engravings and fabrics of the time.
