Almond tree flowers at the end of winter

In winter, the Vall de Sóller surprises its visitors with one of the most bucolic images presented by the Mallorcan countryside: the white of the blooming almond trees floods the orchards of the valley and warns of the return of the yearned spring.

The white and pink tones of the almond trees in bloom are a strong attraction for thousands of tourists who don't hesitate to visit our valley on such special dates; since the contrast between the green - gray chromaticism of the olive trees and the whiteness of the almond trees gives an extra attraction to visit the town of Sóller. Nature lovers take the opportunity to walk and explore the hiking trails offered by the Vall de Sóller, characterized above all by its beauty and tranquillity during the months of February and March.

The almond trees are very attached to the culture and way of life of the Majorcans and the sollerics since they were part of the economic support of the land-owning families and the farmers of Sóller.
